I had so many of you viewers ask if I could show you how to make this little nest charm, I thought I better get on it! Besides mothers day is coming up and this would make a great gift for Grandma and Nana. sshhhhh don’t tell.
First you have to find a thicker wire that will bend easily. I finally found it at home depot I’m sure you can find it other places but in the end the silver 18 gage aluminum wire was at my secret crafting supply place home depot. (side note- the dollar store has colored wire right now that would look cute as well)
Ok so let me tell you about my fancy jewelry making equipment….. get out you highlighter and sharpie I know I know I’m so fancy 🙂 You want to wrap the wire around the bigger marker like three times then wrap it around the smaller one 3 or 4 times.
Now look in your stash for some beads. I so wanted to find some seed pearls, they would look just like eggs! Ok so you take really thin gage wire almost wire thread. use about two feet and string on how many little eggs you want in the nest. I like to make a twist so they are not sliding all over the place.
then just start sewing up and down up and down in three spots, I’ve seen some on pintrest where they use messy wire in the bottom of the egg to look like a messy nest, so just do what you like and make it your way.
Then just pop on a large jump ring and attach it to your necklace done isn’t it darling??? I wear mine with A LOT of other charmers cause I like lots of dangling stuff. Enjoy!
