Gallery Wall

 A Gallery wall is so personal.  It’s like a little time line you get to see every day.  I have dreamed of putting a gallery wall up, ever since I moved into this house.  We had a big wall to fill and I really wanted to have it go way up high to fill the space.

 First I laid out the frames  on the floor and played around with them for days.  I came to the conclusion that it will never be perfect, and will be add to, so i left a few spaces on the ends and top to grow with the years.

 
I use a mix of frames to add interest and personality.  I didn’t want them all to be matchy matchy I’m not a fan of that look.  I wanted it to be fun and I wanted to use the frames my talented husband made for me.  (he now has to make a matching frame for the bottom right corner) he he. I also used silver frames with white mats just to make it more airy and light.  I love how it turned out!
 

In the basement I bought ikea frames and made a white mat to fit.  I taped all my instagram photos of for the year in the word LOVE.  (ok not all my instas- i have a ton just the best).  I love that my kids can see all the fun things they did last year.  The great thing about it is I can take them down and just change out a few of the photos each year to keep it current.  or just spell more words around the  house.  🙂
