I was hired by a client to make over her lacquer vases/jar/things… I was a little worried because they were so shiny and and well lacquered. She wanted them white for her new spa and I said ok lets see what we can do.
So I gave them a little bit of sanding and then two coats of primer. I got a good heavy spray paint (krylon white gloss) and sprayed and sprayed and sprayed. I took me lots of coats because you have to turn it to do the back, tip it upside down to get underneath. Lets just say I sprayed sprayed and sprayed till it looked covered.
They looked great but they weren’t as shinny as I would have liked so i wet sanded them. I love wet sanding. You do have to get a special sand paper from Home Depot or Lowe’s. You get the paper wet and the vase a little wet to and lightly sand a way…
