Light it up

So it takes a long time to fix up your house!!  Some time the littlest things make me happy, because there is so  much of the big stuff still to do.  We haven’t had a light in the hall for 8 months. I so wanted to find the right light and put up. 

however the right light was a lot and lets just say I can’t even rationalize that kind of money.  However I couldn’t go on without a light so  this is what I did.

I spray paint the brass light that was in the basement that I had put into the DI pile.  Its now a muted goldish color. (looks silver in the photos but it’s a mixture of the two)
 I then had my handy hubby drill more holes even with the screw holes that were already there.

I added some crystals that I had in my craft room and put a cute Edison bulb in and voila.  for now  it will have to do until I can save for the sconce of my dreams.  Not bad for free.

 p.s. took the long hangings ones off and just kept them short like this look better.  I like it more uniform don’t ya think?
