People ask me why I do Studio 5, I guess the main reason is that it forces me to do projects for the holidays that I might not have gotten too. When all is said and done I usually have great decorations for the season! I wanted to do a more modern look in my basement for my kids this year so I have some fun mid century modern decor. I also wanted to decorate my office this year and I love all that glitter and shabby look so I did both…. can you blame me. It was easy to use the same techniques on both of the decorations. And this is like kindergarten level, its so easy you could do literally hundreds of ornaments in no time.
The nutcrackers are extra special I think, these are a dollar store find. I used my blow dryer to heat up the beards and hair on these little guys and striped them bald. The blow dryer heats up the glue and lets you peel anything off. The mid century robots are from caravanshoppe they have magnets so the kiddies can pull them apart and make hundreds of different combinations. (Ok not Christmas but I love them non the same)
The wreaths were so dang easy I’m embarrassed to be even showing them its just floral rings and wire. I got gold ornaments at the dollar store and just wired (a little hot glue) to the ring. took me 10 min. Then I just added a vintage bow done! ok the vintage one is not done I’ll post a photo of it when it is. It does need a few more ornaments and a few more ribbon adjustments. he he
I’m in love with the mid century one. the glitter circles are a string of garland you are suppose to use on your tree. I got it at Tie Pan then I added a bow made out of those cute little treat bags and some ribbon. Make this wreath simple its suppose to look mod. I’ll be showing off all these and more on Studio 5 this Friday so keep your eye out for more goodies to come.
