Glam up your desk accessories!

I love to organize  its kind of a sickness of mine.  Not that my house is supper organized  (the cobblers children had no shoes)  but It is supper fun to organize other peoples houses!!  And my own when I have time.  Here are a few things that I’m crushing on this year and can’t wait to use in my house and some of my clients!  PS stay till the end of the post to see how to win an I-pad and I-phone 6 cover from Agent 18

 These darling file folders are from Target 4.99$  now that’s a steal. 

This set is from pbteen and is 40$.  So you can see, if look for what you want most of the time you can find it cheaper, and if you can’t you can make it for less.

   I love the black and white stripes but I wanted to make it more fun, so using my Bando cup as inspiration I added a cardstock heart.

 Hello how fun is this? If I want it more permanent  than I can just mod-podge it onto the file.  Did you know that Jo-Anns carries  mod-podge in matt and glossy finish?  so cool.

And if I want to add a gold edge like the Pottry Barn set, then I will grab my gold Scotch washi tape,

 like I used on this black Target tray from the dollar spot.
These little numbers from Office depot are 16.99$  and can be achieved by wrapping material around an Ikea 2$ file. 

 
 I also wrapped a wooden watch box my son got for Christmas in tweed from an old dress,  and it made a darling pencil holder for free.  Guys look around you and reuse what you have. 
 
This box below was done the same way by wrapping fur around the box. I got the fur from               Jo-Ann’s and I’m dying, its so fun!!!!   I had all the neighborhood boys begging to take this box home with them.  They said something about Chewbacca from Star wars .  Watch out Jo-Ann’s there will be a run on your fur for pet boxes LOL  

 this was so simple I can put up a tutorial if you guys want to know how to cover a box with fabric or fur!!!

Now lets talk Lucite.  I love this look but its so expensive this tray at Container Store is 49$  I wish! 

This tray is from  Target for  16.99$  Now that’s better.  I’m sure its smaller but I need smaller for my desk.  and I love the added gold stripes on the file folder from Target as well. 
 
Can you see the Lucite tray?  it makes keeping my desk easier to keep clean
 

Now if you want Glam then you better get your self to West Elm and bring 96$ for the set. Now I’m all about spending money on well made high end products like shoes or chi hair straighters but for my office where I’m usually the only occupant I thought I could defiantly recreate this look for way way less. 

I love to silver leaf and I thought gold leaf is going to be just as beautiful and it is.
  Amazon   has a great selection of gold leaf sheets and its supper easy to do.  Just paint on the special glue wait 15 min and lay the gold leafing on top of the glue.  Then grab an old blush brush and brush off the leafing (kinda messy) But the results are so worth it. I got the wooden box from Jo-Ann’s

Last but not least use what you have I love my terrarium from Jo-Anns It has my sharpies in it (also from Jo-Ann’s.) It will hold my pens until the  summer when I can put an air plant inside it.  AND….. Hello do you love my Agent 18  I-pad cover it matches my phone,  I use my phone and I-pad a lot to organize with so I might as well make that glam as well!
