I have loved my glittered heels! I have to admit I wear them more than I should, but they are so pretty and fun, and lets face it in the cold of winter its nice to have a little sparkle and glamor, right?
Here’s how I took a 10$ pair of sale shoes and turned them into something fabulous.
1. Tape off the edge of the shoe so that only the heel is showing, you don’t want to get any of the glue on the shoe part only the heal.
2. I used Liquid fusion I’m sure you can use E6000 (that’s what I planed on using but mine was all dried out oops) I spread a thick layer of glue on the back side of the heal.
3. Then the fun part, I just dumped the sparkle-est glitter I could find to cover the heel. I was going to use the very fine Martha Stewart glitter in a more subdued shade of gold but it just looked like dirty bumpy heels not very attractive.. So go big and bright or don’t try this at all 🙂
4. I don’t have a photo of this part because lets face it, it was around midnight and I was too tired to grab my camera. But this is the most important step….. after you fill in the holes and your heels have dried for a few hours, you need to cover the entire heel in Mod-Podge. This will really keep the glitter on the heels of your shoes.
I was kinda hopping that some would fall off and people would say oh Michelle was here, but alas the glitter stayed put and they are still going strong. I guess I will get to wear them for a long time, Valentines here I come!
