This craft came from my desperate need to put my earrings and bracelets in a designated spot while I was working. I’m infamous in taking off my earrings and not remembering where I put them. In my pocket? in my purse? left by the sink? I’m a total goof about my jewelry addiction, and yet I don’t like to wear it for long.
Hence the trinket trays. I started pricing one out for my office and the one I wanted was too expensive to reward me for leaving my jewelry laying around. (Sad face) So I thought I will make one that is just as charming!! And that’s just what I did.
I started with something easy like this little dish from Create and Barrel. I had other plans for it but seeing that it was already holding a chapsick and my hair band I thought I could spruce it up a bit.
I added a few stripes of gold tape from Scotch and poof a darling tray that matched all my office supplies. I think this ones a keeper!
But what I really wanted was a little tray for my rings while I wash my hands. I do tend to buy a lot of costume jewelry. I had some Sculpey clay. You can get some HERE from Amazon. or a craft store, but I wanted a lot because I planned on making at least 4 trays.
I even leafed the inside of the taller bowel and I just adore that look! it so fancy.
10. You might want to seal the clay using a special glazy from Sculpey. It makes your piece shinny and gives it a finished look. However I did leave my sand dollar one with a matt finish and gold edge, you will just have to see what you like better.
11. if you want your words to stand out use a gold or silver pen and trace the indentions left by the stamp. and Done! supper easy and kids wanted to make a ton, I guess we will be giving these away for mothers days birthdays and just because.
I would love to see your creations if you make one! Tag me on instagrames @theglitzypear
