I get board easily and I’m always looking for something new and pretty. So this year when I was asked to be on the Decorating team for SNAP I was over the moon! I couldn’t wait to try some backdrop ideas on a bigger scale.
We decided on the herringbone pattern to drape the back of the stage. I had seen this in an anthropology window using stained wood. Gorgeous but hello that was not going to happen. We decided to go with bright colorful paper from My minds eyes new card stock line and wow what an impact. it was supper easy to construct and the cost was so minimal we could have covered the whole room if we wanted too.
Then as it happened I was also in the middle of doing a modern wedding and what do you know the bride was in love with this idea. So I decided to try a few arrows out in her colors. I have to say they were so fun and so cheery behind the happy couple. It was just the pop of color they needed to brighten up all the dark green under the pergola.
If your wedding is going to be geometric and modern you are going to need a beautiful modern center piece. I feel in love with Jeremy’s work when I saw his instagram @succulariums Hello he had me at succulents!! I loved the idea of using succulents as the centerpiece of a wedding. the color of succulents goes well with any color scheme and think what if Jeremy put base rocks the color of your wedding in the bottom now that’s charming!
And if you want an easy DIY on geomantic accents then these little straw shapes are just what you need. The florist was so kind to help tie little flowers to the shapes. I love how they turned out. A tutorial will be coming soon, but I was too excited to show you how cute a modern wedding can be so keep on the lookout. You can also sign up for my newsletter and never miss a post. wink wink.
