Modern Thanksgiving tablescapes seem a little bit counter intuitive, seeing that Thanks Giving is a holiday seeped in tradition. You know me always wanting to be current and yet I do have a ton of vintage and family heirlooms in my home. I guess I love looking to the future without losing the charm of my past. Thanksgiving dinner is at my house this year and as always I want it to be lovely without spending too much money. So here are three modern Thanksgiving tablescapes ideas that you should use this year.

They come as printables that you can just print from your computer or send to a print shop. I put little clipboards at each place setting with a packet full of fun things the kiddies can do while they wait for dinner or after when we need to buy a little time.
I also had a jar that they could fill up with treats that they could take home or just snack on later. The Treats were part of the centerpiece, which can be a good and bad thing if you have kids that love to snack before meal time. You could set up a little station in another part of the room so that the temptation isn’t right in front of their little faces. On the flip side some kids might be motivated to eat dinner so that they can get their treats after.

2. I love being current and I love trying new things. So this just might be the way I do my table this year. I used sparkle wrapping paper and layered over it a chalk printable runner and lots of gold and white accessories. I love that the chalk printables keep the table monochromatic and pop the gold! Again the printables are from Caravan Shoppe and came in a pack so that they all went together.
I had the large printable, printed at Staples as an engineering print. It was 7.99 and makes such a huge impact! It adds to cool off all the gold and sparkle. I love mixing textures, shine, and natural elements together. I just used what i had, my pumpkins on brass candle sticks and my IKEA planter filled with mini pumpkins. To add a pop of fun i used office stickers to add polk-a-dots to my boring chargers, Look how happy and fun they are with my wedding china on top!
A tutorial will be coming for the dipped salad tongs!! This has to be my favorite hack and would make a lovely hostess gift for the holidays. hint hint!

3. I love my grandmas china and I rarely use it, I don’t know why we don’t use our beautiful things more often! I love the look of the gold and copper with my gold and black china and vintage glasses. To give it a more modern look i added leather place mats (bought faux leather and cut them out) and used craft paper on the horizontal so offset the green table cloth. Then I made napkin rings out of grandmas broaches and I had both traditional with a modern twist. I can’t wait to show you how to crate this all your self in the next week! so come back for the tutorials.
Now for what you were waiting for the coupon code for Caravan shoppe its…..THANKFUL2016 and its good till thanksgiving! use it for 20% off! Now go get those printables and then comeback to see what else I have been doing to get ready for the holidays.
