I have loved making woven art (yarn wall hanging) this past year. I have made a total of 10 for family, friends, and total strangers. I love how relaxing this kind of crafting is. I was so excited to find this how to book! A DIY book about weaving and incorporating this kind of art into your home decor. If you want a boho feel in your daughters room, office, or living room, and if you love creating things, you will want to peek at this book on how to make yarn wall hanging for your home.
This is what Rachel the author said about her new book “as a new tribe of creative individuals continues to explore this ancient craft with new color stories and fresh eyes, Its is my great pleasure to share some of the basic elements of frame-loom weaving, My hands get busy, life slows down, and i’m able to find that peaceful place that leaves me more connected to myself and somehow to all the makers that have ever sat down at a loom” Hello!! I get her, I love working with my hand and having something tangible that i can use in my home.
This is the wall hanging I’m going to try next. I am really good with macrame knots and large cord. I have done a few loose wall hanging weaves just using a dowel, but i want a more polished look so I’m going to attempt to make a small frame. This book is fabulous in showing you how to make every thing you need to make one of these hanging. If I was ambitious I would do these for Christmas gifts however getting one of these done before Christmas might prove hard, umm 10 left. (Maybe next year) I love having my weaves in the kitchen where I can work on them for a few mins while I’m making dinner or helping with home work. Am I crazy to fill every second of time with something? I do love to create and finish projects that will bring me happiness when I see them. I love to make things that match my house and are in colors that blend perfectly with my decor. Sometimes that is a tricky aspect of adding trendy things to your house, the colors are not just right when your looking at the store or on Etsy. Doing it yourself you can be sure that it will be just what you want it to be.
I’m sure you will be seeing more of my new project on my Instagram this holiday season It will defiantly be my decompression activity for when i feel like I’m going to pull my hair out! I wonder if any of you have soothing craft activities? tag me on Instagram so that i can get more ideas on things that bring you joy.
