Winter decor, transitional decor, What you need to put out after Christmas

How do you decorate after the holidays?  I tend to take all my Christmas down and just let my house  breath for a week or two.  I like to think about what I have and mix it up a bit so I can have a fresh new start for  the new year.  Then as I started looking at Pintrest and Instagram I found out that a lot of you have transitional decor.  So I did a fun segment on Studio 5 talking about my fun new take on winter decor.  The first thing I did was to take stock of what I already had in my Christmas decor that would work for winter as well.  Snowflakes and my glass marbled trees were a definite stay.  
I also love anything that is from nature like pine cones and antlers ( um I do leave my antlers out all year so can I still count that?)  And I loved the idea of putting the pine cones under my glass cloches.  Like Brooke Walker said on the show “everything looks more special under  glass)  and I tend to agree. 

I love my hanging glass snowflakes and I have kept them up well into February some years, mainly because they are hard to take down and let face it they are so pretty and sparkly I just love having them up.  I got these years ago and wish I could find a few more!!  so if you ever see them give me a call pronto.

And last but not least are the darling  Swedish inspired mountains that I made, just because I wanted to have some fun new Transitional winter decor.  LOL  and I thought they would be simple to make and darling to boot.  Don’t you just love the rustic fee of these beauties?  I’m going to show you how you can make these darling Mt. too in my next blog post so stay tune.  and if you have any darling winter decor you want to share with me tag me @theglitzypear so I can see, I’d love to repost some of my favorites.   Stay warm and enjoy the snow.
