Who does’t want to go to a tropical island for a vacation? I mean when I think of happy places that’s where my mind takes me. So when a friends daughter was getting married in Hawaii and I was asked to help decorate a Tropical wedding shower for her I jumped at the chance. Let me show you what I created for this darling Tropical wedding shower in the heart of the good old mountains in Utah!
I wanted a fun bright tropical theme and I think what really made it all come together in a tropical explosion was the colors of the party. Bright fun summer colors like lime green, yellow and hot pink added such a fun vibe to the decor. This was such an easy party to put together I wanted to use as much of my own stuff as possible so out came the spray paint!
The first thing I did was to spray paint some cute terracotta pots from Home Depot. They were a dollar each and spray painted up beautifully. After I painted them colors I taped off the top of the pot and sprayed the bottom gold. I love how they turned out, they are still on my dinning room table mainly because they are filled with succulents that refuse to die!
I also spray painted pineapples, yup regular pineapples from the grocery store. it was supper easy and they looked so stinking cute! I used a piece of card board to mask off the pineapple bottom when I was spraying the tops! And I did eat these after the tropical wedding shower, don’t judge that pineapple had a thick skin and I did not ingest one scrap of paint.
The invite had cute little cactus’s on the front so i thought why not add some into the decor. I had some darling printables of Cactus’s and used those in expensive frames from IKEA. They are so light that I just clipped colored binder clips onto the tops and hung them with ribbon to the deck. I wanted to cover the deck with white sheets to make for a cleaner backdrop but I didn’t count on the post right in the middle of the deck. (insert sad face here) so it was a bit messy for my taste but I think it turned out ok in the end.
I also loved these ball lights from AmyRobinson.com they are the cutest things. I strung them up like a banner just so I could get more color up on the back drop.
I used the cutest paper plates from Sophitaplates.com you can also find them from Amazon hello how convenient! I love the ruffled edge and they looked so cute all stacked up with the utensils tied to the plates for easy serving. The colors were so perfect for the party, pink, green, and lime. They had matching napkins but I went with hot pink. I’m so in love with this cute company. All in all it was a supper easy party to put together a little spray paint and few printables and a few flowers that’s all you’re going to need for a cute set up like this. So happy tropical wedding shower or dinner party what ever you call it, it will be the happiest party of the summer.
Cutest shower ever! I love the colors…I love everything about it!!
It turned out so cute!!! Well done, my talented friend. ? ??
