I’m obsessed with the hoops that I used last year in a few of the Weddings I did. I love the modern yet Boho look that the hoop wreaths give any venue. After making some darling giant hoop wreaths for Christmas, I decided to give it a go for a delicate spring look. Here is my Modern Spring brass hoop Wreath DIY, it will give you that fresh yet modern springtime look to your house or front door. Again with all my Diy’s, this is super simple and only takes a few steps to achieve a very sophisticated and charming look! ( if you want to see these live check out my studio 5 segment HERE)
I wanted a modern look so I spray painted some of my greenery gold, the trick is to put on gloves (or not I didn’t) and then hold the greenery up so that you can get all around the leaves. It might take two coats to get it all sprayed gold but it is so worth the extra effort to make it more of a glamorous modern spring wreath. If you leave the leaves and flowers green it gives the wreath a nice simple sweet spring look which plays off a white door or wall nicely. You Just have to decide on the look you want and then go for it.
after the paint is dry (I used mine the next day) you are going to start wiring the stems onto the brass macrame ring I like to use gold wire for this so that it matches the ring and the gold leaves. You can also hot glue the leaves to the ring but this seemed a bit more labor intensive. You can make this as thick or thin as you would like. I was going for a more delicate modern spring wreath so I chose to use only one layer of my small leaves.
Then its time to add a ribbon or a small embellishment and yup you’re ready to hang, I am however going to make mine free standing for my Easter table and I will show you how to make the base in the next post. This requires a little more work and some heavy duty glue. So Stay tuned!
