Shoe Organization

Welp, today is the day we are going to tackle the month of cleaning out your closet!  Yes I’m going to drag this out for a whole month for you busy working moms.  If you want to strap on your power shoes and yoga pants and finish this project in a weekend be my guest. However you want work on this project is fine by me.  Just follow along as I brake it down for you in easy weekly sessions.

I must start with how to organize shoes because lets face it shoes always fit and it seems like we accumulate lots and lots of these wondrous accessories. Many of us really like shoes. In fact, I’m defiantly one of them. Sometimes we end up accumulating an overload of shoes flip flops, boots, and slippers.  When you can’t find the floor of your closet or the left shoes of a favorite pair, it’s time to get busy on an organize shoes project.

How to Organize shoes

1. Take all your shoes out of your closet. Sort by summer, winter, indoor (slippers) ect.
2. work with just sone season at a time. Start by getting rid of any out of style, non fitting, or worn out shoes. Check them for repairs or shoes that need to be cleaned and polished.
3. Now lay out your shoes That you are keeping by color and style aka workout shoes. And see if you have too many pairs or if you need to shop for new gray boots.
4. Now for the fun part Shoe Organization, Where are you going to put these beauties? in clear shoe boxes? on the shelf?

5.Return your shoes to the closet making sure you wipe down the shelves. Use large clear boxes to store off season shoes up high. Nobody wants to be searching for flip flops under a stack of boots in the summer.

6. Take those donations shoes out to the garage in your donation pile. Make sure you get your stuff off to Good will as soon as you can! you won’t believe how good you will feel not having so much clutter around.

This is a photo of my shoe drawers. I love these things. Because I have some weird space on the floor , these drawers make it easy to get to my shoes. They are a bit pricey so I get a few every time I’m at the container store. Just do what you can.

I also have a shoe tower that hold my odd shaped boxes and on the side is a tower of shoe boxes from the container store. Again too many shoes? YES! but I have space for them and they all look cute, fit, and I have worn this year. So take an hr or 15 minutes to get organized shoes in place. For your information I got rid of 4 pairs of boots, 5 pairs of flip flops, 2 pairs of sandals, 2 flats and pair of heels. Let do this people.
