Have you ever wanted to make a statement at a party shower or wedding but thought it would be too hard and expensive? This easy DIY outdoor hoop wreath floral chandelier party decor is supper simple and I did it on the cheap. It looks gorgeous hanging from trees, (that’s where I’m using them in June for a wedding) or hanging in your back yard from your deck or fence. Let me show you step by step what you need and how you can put it together.
1. Wooden sewing hoops all sizes I even used quilting hoops
2. paint, foam brushes, or spray paint I loved the new metallic pink from modern masters
3. twine
4. floral wire
5. fake flowers
6. wire cutters
First, paint all the hoops that you want painted. If you want them all the same color spray painting would be the easiest. However I just wanted one side of the hoop wreath to be painted, so using a foam brush was the simplest way to get the paint on one side. I painted some metallic pink paint on the inside and some on the outside, keeping the other side wood. I did a few all pink and left a few all wood. Can you tell I couldn’t decide what I wanted. In the end it looks amazing to have all the different colors and textures of the wooden hoops.
Second, take the two hoops and wrap the twine around the base and the top to give the hoop wreath chandelier its shape. I would tie a knot in the twine just to make sure it can withstand winds and being blown around .
Third, now is the fun part, attaching the flowers to the hoop-wreath chandelier. If you need to make lots of these don’t panic use expensive flowers. These cuties are going to hang above your head and people wont see them close up. with that being said use the prettiest flowers you can find. Some times the cheaper flowers from the dollar store will fall apart if they get knocked about too much. I make a little bunch of flowers and wire the whole group of flowers on the hoop-wreath chandelier at one time.
Then I will go back and wire on more where I need more flowers. I also will use just the flower heads and hot glue them into places that might need to be filled.
Last you can add decorative ribbon to hang down and blow in the breeze. You will also need to use a ribbon or more twine to add a long tying string at the top so that you can hang and adjust the height of the hoop wreath chandelier when you are outside. nothing is worse that have to run in to get more twine to hang your decor.
See told you it was easy, beautiful and inexpensive. I have other fun wedding decor ideas if you are wanting unique and easy show stopping party decor.
