First Summer Project Power Washing

I painted under my deck a beautiful shade of light blue a few years ago thinking we would be replacing the deck before the pandemic. Power washing has always been so fun for me, making all the rugs and driveway clean after the long Utah winters. I have always rented or borrowed one but not this year, I’ve got my own now.

So not wanting to destroy the already old deck I wanted a smaller unit that still had power. I needed one that wouldn’t crumble the whole deck. This Giraffe Pressure washer has 2200psi and was strong enough to take off most of the peeling paint and not destroy the deck.

Step 1 set up power washing system

Set up the washer by the hose spicket, and grab an extension cord. It can be mounted on the wall. we will only be using it every once in a while and will store it in the garage. Attach the hose to the washer and plug it in. I want to say this has got to be the easiest power tool i own.

Step 2 find the right nozzle

The Giraffe Presser washer comes with a few different nozzles for different projects. I needed the one with the most power it was the red tipped one then we were off and spraying. I had my boy over and he really wanted to help with the power washing. its kind of satisfying to spray the paint and watch it fall to the floor.

Step 3 how to spray

It seems like a no brainer but you need to keep moving when power washing. You don’t watch to etch a spot to deep. I felt in my project small circles were best. Power washing is messy so be ready to clean up afterward.

As you can see the whole power washing project is coming along. The first step is done and now its time to sand prime and paint. This wont be a fast project but because we spend so much time out on our patio it will be totally worth it.
