Do you know what Reverse Osmosis (RO) is? “It’s a water filtration treatment process that removes contaminants from our water by using pressure to force water molecules through a semipermeable membrane. During this process, the contaminants are filtered out and flushed away, leaving clean, delicious drinking water.” Sounds complicated right? Well maybe it does but installing the Express filter Water System took only an hour! with only one miss step. I’ll take you step by step on how easy and inexpensive this system is.
When we bought our house we had a water filtration system put in and it cost us $2300. We never knew where to get the water filters and then the company went out of business. I was so upset. This system is under $200 and you can install it yourself!
Let me show you how we set up our Express filter Water System.
Remove your old filtration system, if you don’t have one, make sure you have a hole for dish soap in your sink already. Since we had a filtration system we just kept our original faucet because it matched our sink. However, that’s where the mishap happened. The tubing was a different size so we needed a trip to the Home Depot to get a SharkBite (and yes that’s what it is called LOL) and after we had this piece it was pretty easy. with that said make sure you install all the steps in order.
We installed the faucet last like it tells you BUT… because we didn’t check if we had the right tubes for the old matching faucet and because it was pressurized, when we installed it we got charcoal water splattered all over. I was laughing my hubby was not. So do your homework and make sure everything is in order before you start. And make sure you turn off the water before you start!!
We laid out all the materials and read the directions all the way through. The first step was assembling the water filtration system. It was easy to screw them on with the tool that they gave us even if I wasn’t super strong this tool gave me the tightness I needed.
Start attaching the chords. It was kind of like a puzzle, but the drawing they had in the directions was so easy to follow. The only hiccup we had was our tubing from our other system. It didn’t match up so we had to get a shark bite reducer. Again make sure all your pieces fit before you start your project. You can attach this Express Water Filtration System to the under cabinet but we didn’t have enough room so we just set it on the floor. it seems pretty stable and will be easy to slide out when we need to change the filters.
Once everything is set up and hooked to your water, and you have hooked the large tank up, turn back on the water. You’re going to want to run a couple of tanks full of water through the system before you start drinking it. It takes two hours for it to fill up properly, so this was the hardest part of the filtration system. The waiting! We did a few before we went to sleep again, one more in the morning and then again a few hours later.
Once you get all the water filtered through, you are ready to use your reverse osmosis filtration system !! Finally, we have filtered water again and I’m so excited. I’m on a health journey and I want the cleanest water possible. This express water filtered system is the best that I could find.
It’s nice having filtered water ready at our fingertips and not having to fill jugs that you put in the fridge and wait for them to filter to get fresh, clean, mineral-free water.
A huge shout-out to my hubby who helped me put it all together and my Stanly cup couldn’t be happier.
