I love following trends in fashion and home décor, but I don’t want to spend a lot of money on trendy things that will only be around a season or two. You should invest your money in things that will last and stand the test of time, like an amazing neutral colored couch or well made furniture. The frosting of the room, should be the trendy things to make your space pop with energy and light! This week I’m going to focus on a few of my favorite trends and where to grab them. The first trend I’m loving right now are pillows! I have chairs, benches, couches, and even the floor that would be perfect for an upgrade. Pillows are inexpensive and can be changed out seasonally to bring in a bit of whimsy to your space. Or keep them simple and keep them out all year. But go crazy with your pillows because its the one thing that you can buy in a crazy color and then change it up next year when day-glow green is not in fashion anymore.
Pillows add color softness and life to a plain chair or couch. It the accessories for your living room. think of pillows as your earrings it just kind of finishes a space right? As you can see from above Home goods is an incredible place to shop for pillows. I have also had great luck at TJ Max and Target. Look closely at Target online they have a huge selection.
I loved my pillows at Christmas gray felt pillows with snowflakes a navy sweater pillow from Ralph Lauren and a wool cream pillow with a wreath. I kept this look up till Feb. Loved all the cozy materials of the pillows!
On my couch right now are some neutral colored gray pillow covers from IKEA I have had these for three years because they go with every things. Then I added 2 green pillows one striped lumbar pillow and a new navy pillow with pompoms. love this look for spring!
Upstairs in my hubbies office we have a day bed from West Elm. I love it however, its so deep because its a bed. I feel I need to have a ton of pillows to compensate for the deep back. Again IKEA has the best euro pillows and covers. (I only use down inserts) The gray and Blue are from IKEA and the rest are from Home Goods. I just love finding a crazy pillow with a ton of colors and then using solid colors to compliment the look.
