I’m a sucker for vintage things. I love flea markets and I love making over old things into fun and whimsical new things. A few years ago I inherited my mothers old hard case travel bag. I fell in love with the shape and size. I stored extra ribbon and my old cross stitches in it. The dark green color of it wasn’t working so I painted it turquoise, and have loved it ever since.
A few weeks ago I happened upon another very promising case. I snagged it for 15$, a bargain! It was a dark blue that was not too pretty, Sad and dreary. So I popped open my paint can and painted it cream. I used regular wall paint, I didn’t prime it knowing it was to be for storage and rarely used. It took three coats and was done in an hour. Now my pretty little case will take it spot on top of my armoir in my craft room and await for something to be stored inside.
I LOVE the idea of painting one and using it both as decoration AND storage… maybe for bed sheets or pillow cases, etc? Nice work!!
