State necklace and why i love it.

 

 

I have been into meaningful jewelry lately.  I’m kinda a sentimental girl and i love things (jewelry and charms) that remind me of fun times and special places.  Cents of Style has the cutest state necklaces right now  and today they are 15% off with this code.   When I saw these I knew i had to get a one.

I know its not my home state, surprise surprise.  I do love Utah and yes maybe I’ll get another one  but I was dying to get the Hawaii state necklace.  I went to school there a million years ago, BYU Hawaii and it was incredible.  I had just gotten engaged to Bry (my now husband) and was thinking about not going.  After a little bit of reflection from the both of us I decided to go.  Bryan didn’t want me to have any regrets about my life and schooling so he was all for it.  I wanted to have that far away from home experience one in my life before I got married, just to see if I was as strong as I thought I was.

 

 

So off I went to Hawaii for a semester of school with no family friends or fiancee.  I think my time there was one of the biggest growth periods  of my life.  I truly had to dig deep to see what I was made out of.  I had to solve all my own problems because I was far from family and friends.  I had to make new friends, I had to explore new places, and I had only me to push myself.  Yes there were times that I thought what am i doing I miss my honey and home, but then there were times that were so amazing they have stayed at the top of my all time favorite moments of my life.

 

 

Its incredible what you can find out about yourself when you are on your own, making your own way,  relying on what you have inside yourself.  I feel totally blessed to have had that experience in my life.   Now when I look at my darling State necklace of Hawaii I think of that fabulous time there and how If I can rock that experience then I can take on almost anything!
