Hello friends I was invited to a friends giving this year and was asked to make a couple of my yummy caramel apple pies. “ok” I said, then darling B said, “why don’t you try a Slab pie?” “What???? a slab pie I’ve never heard of such of thing!! ” “It looks easy” said B (who was a professional caterer)
Ok so I did take the challenge and was so nervous making something for the first time without a test run. Hello!!!(insert jumping up and down here) It was such a hit I’ve had 4 of my girl friends asking for the recipe so I thought maybe you’d like it too. You know me and my sheet cakes, I love cooking for a crowd so what do you know I can now cook a pie for a crowd too. P.S. that gorgeous pie above is not mine I didn’t take a photo of the final product!! I’m kicking myself but I’ll make it again and will for sure do an update!!
Guys all ya gotta do is double your recipe that’s it!! Mine is a Carmel apple pie so it supper sweet and gooey its so so divine that even me and kids who, don’t love apple pie love this recipe. I’m pretty sure I got it from my sister so thanks Marcee. You can print my recipe out from the link at the bottom or use your own but you have to try it this Holliday season its such a show stopper!
This is all the yummy sauce that is left in the pot after you soften the apples. Make sure you save some of the juice to thicken up and add to the pan if you would like.
