What could be more fun than sharing your baby shower with your cute hubby and his friends too? My darling niece wanted to include the boys at her baby shower so what better way than hosting a BABY-Q? The food can be all boy while the presentation can be all dressed up for a girl or boy. My niece is having a boy so the red and blue color scheme was just the ticket I needed, but changing it up to include a pink gingham would be just as darling for a little girl! This idea was so cute that Studio-5 wanted me to create it for their show, because who doesn’t want to celebrate the birth of their baby with the world! Let me show you what I did to create this special shower for a special gal.
One of the fun things about this shower is how easy it is to pull together we all Barb-Q or grill so most of us have those things in our cupboards. Look around your house first before you plan any party and see what you have that is the color of the party, even if it doesn’t quite go with the theme, the color will, and it makes a bigger statement in the Decor.
Using free printables is a win because it just solidifies the theme and adds details that say you put some time into the party. When you are throwing any kind of shower it can be expensive so make sure what you buy looks great with the theme and could be used again at a future party.
I love using Sophitiplates for all my paper plates, they make a statement and always elevate the party to the next level. The other company I can’t live without when I’m planning a party or shower is Kate Aspen. I found this company a few years ago and have been using them as my go-to for party favors, decor, and extras for weddings and parties.
two fun things I just learned after all these years of throwing parties showers and weddings.
1. I was putting my napkins outside on the picnic table where the wind was whisking them away. I shoved them in my lantern until I could go get my napkin weight. I forgot to grab the weight because let’s face it I was doing a million things at once. So when it was time for the party the guest were taking the napkins out of the lantern, it looked super cute as if I meant for that to happen.
2. The second tip came to me at another shower I was at this summer. I just didn’t have enough hands to carry all that I had picked up on the buffet table. So I thought why don’t I put the utensils over by the drinks in a different location than the food, That way the guest will get their food, sit down, and then grab their drinks and fork after.
It doesn’t take much to make the party a hit just use my secret sources Sophitiplates and Kate Aspen along with all the fun things I’m sure you already have and you too will be able to put on a Baby-Q for your daughter or son lickity split.
