Easy Fun Plastic Egg Crafts

 

Around Easter time there is always an abundance of those colorful plastic eggs.  Not just in stores, but from getting new ones every year because you can’t seem to be able to find last year’s until it’s too late, and then the accumulation begins… LOL! It’s time to put those little eggs to a new use and start doing Easter egg crafts! I mean they do a great job of holding all of that delicious candy, but what else can we get them to do? Here are some fun crafts that you can either do with the kids or up your spring decoration game!

 

1.   If you love the rustic look, these Shabby Chic Easter Eggs are the perfect spring décor addition!  They are simple enough to last even after the Easter holiday and to be enjoyed when springtime comes around again! The best part about these is if you love crafting as much as I do, you probably already have everything you need! Fast, easy, and super cute, triple win!

 

2.Another great Easter-to-spring decoration idea! I love these imitation birds’ eggs. They are super festive and super easy! You can add some colors other than that gorgeous robin’s egg blue to add some texture and life to your home! So cute you’ll use them again and again!

 

 

3. This was the most inventive Easter egg craft I found. These Easter Egg Maracas not only cute, they’re fun too! A great, easy craft to do with the kids, a school class, or even to use as an Easter basket filler. Find your favorite holiday washi tape, maybe just some cute pastels and patterns, and break out the plastic eggs! Feel free to play around with different fillers to create different sounds, rice, beans, seeds, see what sounds you and your kids like best!

 

 

4. Okay, I love wreaths. I have one for just about every holiday and season. This simple Easter egg wreath is so cute and so quick and easy to make! This tutorial is pretty basic, feel free to play around with your wreath! Add some painted eggs, or some spring silk flowers,  maybe put it all together and spray paint the whole thing your favorite spring color and add some festive ribbons. There are so many ways to make this piece yours and something you will love year after year!

5. I made the cutest little mushrooms using my Easter eggs as a mold for these paper mache beauties.  The step by step is found HERE.  This Easter egg craft is so fun for the kids and will last all spring and into summer.  you can put them in jars or glue them to little mounds of moss like I did  HERE. Any way you use them, little girls fairy party, woodland theme shower, or in a terrarium, they will put a smile on anyone’s faces!

6.This Easter Egg Tealight Candle Holder is just perfect for an Easter dinner centerpiece! And, if you decide to use generic paint colors or colors that match your day to day décor, you can use them for any holiday! You can even leave them out year-round on your mantle if you’d like! Great mood lighting without all the heat from your fireplace.  I couldn’t find a source for this photo but it looks like they sprayed the eggs a blush color and put them in a tealight holder.  I’m thinking if you just glue them to a piece of wood that might do the same thing!  I’m loving this one so much I’ve got to make one of these this weekend!
